My Dear Blog Readers
My Mother (Mahmooda Sultana, Alias Ghousia Begum) passed away in 2005. The last time I heard her voice was when I visited the hospital where she was admitted and waiting for an angel of death. When she saw my face, she smiled and prayed for me and then went into the ventilator. I wish I could have said “goodbye and I love you very much.” I know she knew I loved her, but I just wanted to say, thank you for the love you gave me, for never ever putting yourself first, for listening me each and every day, making me feel better every new day, for protecting me and giving me the gift of life.
The most prized quality of my mother is trust and fairness. She always encouraged me to reach to my potential and help me to believe in myself.
Today I just want to say,
“Ammi Jaan, I am who I am today because of you. You are forever in my heart and soul; you are like an angel who is watching over me. This is what I keep in my head, Ammi. I lost you only for a moment, but have you for a lifetime.”
